For hundreds of years the clarion call to inventors and entrepreneurs has been the oft quoted metaphor, “Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door.” This quest has been taken quite literally, as evidenced by the fact that the United States Patent Office has issued over 4400 patents for mousetrap inventions like ours, and many thousands more were rejected because they did not meet the requirements of uniqueness and practicality. Every serious inventor has dreamed of beating the odds and inventing the ultimate mousetrap. Well, with the introduction of the Drop in the Bucket Mouse Trap® , that quest has officially ended, for there can be no better mousetrap – EVER!
The Drop in the Bucket Mouse Trap® is a mechanism that holds a rotating drum, baited with peanut butter. The baited mechanism is placed on top of a 5 gallon bucket. The bucket is not included but any old 5 gallon bucket will do just fine. If you need to purchase a bucket, you can get one from your local Wal-Mart, Ace Hardware, True Value, or your local Farm & Ranch or Feed store. The wooden walk-board that goes from the ground to the top of the bucket/trap is included. This makes it easier for the mouse to get up on top where the action is. As you probably already know, a mouse can literally go anywhere! No mouse can resist the tantalizing aroma of peanut butter, and being the nimble little creature that he is, he hastily ventures out onto the drum to enjoy his new found feast without a worry in the world. But, to his surprise...and dismay...as his weight shifts, so does the drum. As it spins, down into the bucket he goes! Trying to jump off the drum only makes his fall faster and more certain! By adding about 3 inches or more of water to the bucket, you will insure that he cannot jump to his freedom. His destructive days are all behind him!
But, remember, this is the BEST mousetrap EVER!! It's still set and ready for the next customer over and over again. Don't be surprised to check the bucket the following morning and find the entire family! There's no need to touch the little critters. Just find a spot and dump them out.
If you want to be more humane, leave off the water. Then take them far away, dump them out, and let them find a new home someplace besides yours. But don't feel that you are endangering a species. They far outnumber the human population throughout the world!
While The Drop in the Bucket Mouse Trap® works just fine inside the home, it is ideal for areas such as barns, stables, workshops, garages, warehouses, factory buildings, storage sheds, chicken coops, and around animal enclosures.
Since one amorous female mouse can reproduce as many as 150 offspring each year, and one sex-crazed male can father tens of thousands, it's best to not let their population get out of hand.
